Do I look tired?

Why do Monday's always come around after a fabulous weekend? Can we just skip right over to Wednesday and get it over with? I had a lovely weekend, that is really the best way to say it. It was quite lovely. We went on a nature hike and had a picnic at the park. How do you top that? We followed it up by shopping. Last night as Big Red and I were out at dinner I said "I wish we could rewind this weekend and play it over again because it was almost perfect". Sunday was slow and easy...aside from a disastrous volleyball practice. Yes, we decided to form a volleyball team here at work and if you think H and I are on it you are crazy, but our spouses are playing. It was their first practice so I will just leave it at that but I can't wait until their first game Wednesday night, it will be hysterical.

Today is so far, starting off not so good. It is a bleak prospect of a long and foreboding week. We are out of coffee here at the office, it is almost 10 a.m. and I just sent Roman to buy some because people here will kill without coffee and no statement has every been truer. Our receptionist is home sick and no one knows what time she is coming in so H and I had to sit up front and answer the phone. We all pull double duty around here, it's a small office. I have heard Britney Spears "Circus" song one too many times and I'm ready to snap. I am tired and had to dig in my drawer for a One a day energy vitamin because I am going to need it. I fear I am ending on a down note, much like my day.

That is all. Over and out.

Was Rocky a squirrel? I think I found his new gig.

Calm down, I'm right here H. I was on vacation from work, the blog, facebook and life in general. Red and I slept late, made love, ate out, went to the movies, shopped, played games and went to the park and were mugged by squirrels. I tell you these squirrels at Landa Park in New Braunfels got some mad skills when it comes to getting some food. They actually work in pairs and they tag team each other to get your attention. As we were walking down the sidewalk they are waiting for us right in the middle of the sidewalk with a look like "You better be bringing me some food to pass this way, bitch!". Not only do they harass you but they follow you down the path and I felt somewhat molested by them. So we are going back this weekend with food for them. I totally believe the Geico commercials now.

Oh yeah, and I was almost killed by a homeless woman and left for dead...naked and when I asked H for a favor this was his response by e-mail. (Because even though he is here, right down the hall, this is how we communicate all day.)

Yes, she was just standing there looking around. When I asked her if she needed help she asked for money. Mercedes came over to apologize and said she thought she locked it. I guess people who aren't familiar with our door don't know they have to pull and lock. What if this homeless woman had killed me and stolen my clothes?? Oh lord.

Do me a favor and if I ever wind up dead here at the office, make sure I'm not found naked! That would just be the ultimate humiliation, never mind the whole dead thing just put some clothes on me.

H's response?

K, I don’t know that I can clothe your dead, limp, naked body. I will have to see how I feel when that happens.

This is some messed up shit.

My Ohana

I found this picture of my Hawaii grandparents last night and it makes me smile. This is exactly how I remember them, always laughing. Look how happy they look, my grandpa was always teasing my grandma and trying to make her laugh. I hope Red and I are like this after years of marriage. I miss them so much.

My thoughts upon waking

It's Friday and I am spent
This has been a long week
I have a couple of days off next week
I really just need to catch up on my sleep
Why does time drag on when you don't want to be someplace
but when you are on vacation if flies by like it has wings?

Won't you join me on a trip down memory lane?

Everyone thinks "How cute, you're brother is helping you up!" But to this day I swear he was actually pushing me down so he could get all the good pictures. Camera hog!

Okay maybe this is just me, but when I first saw this picture of my brother, the theme from Jaws kept playing in my head. Remember the little boy with the yellow raft who was eaten by the shark and his mom kept screaming for him when everyone ran out of the water and all they found was his mangled raft??! Don't go in the water, dude.

Yes, this was me just getting up from a nap. You think my mom would love me enough to at least style my hair or something. When my husband saw this picture for the first time he said "Wow, you still look just like that when you wake up". We are now going through a divorce.

So I like to call this one "My best side" because all you can see is my butt. Look at my brother in his little knee high socks and perfect part in his hair. Do ya think his shorts are pulled up high enough? White socks and black shoes? Apparently, I didn't care for his fashion sense and decided to haul ass out of there.

Here I am making a Miss Prissy face with my Hawaii grandparents and my dad. We were on our way to Disneyland and my parents kept taking picture after picture. "SMILE K!!" Ugh...even back then I'd had enough. Dig on my dad's cool 60's rat pack sweater.
I love this picture of my mom on her wedding day. The chubby faced girl in front is her sister, my aunt Elsa. My dad likes to refer to this picture as "Can I pick them or what?". My mom is stunning in this picture, she reminds me of an old fashioned movie star.

Man, these pictures are great. I have so many pictures that make me wish I could remember that particular time in my life. Why don't we ever know when we have it good?

Monday Morning Musings

It's Monday morning, the day after the time change and I am suffering. It's really only 6:20, come on now. I made the mistake of napping yesterday and couldn't get to sleep until well after midnight. Have I mentioned I hate the whole concept of setting our clocks ahead one hour thus losing my precious hour of sleep? I came prepared with my coffee AND a Red Bull.

My weekend was one of those pleasant weekends where you are just happy and comfortable. Had dinner at my parents since they are leaving for Boise to spend some time with one of my brothers. There are times when I spend time with my family and I think how lucky I am and this was one of those weekends. My dad was telling me a story about how he tried to fix my mom up with a friend of his because he didn't think he was worthy of my mom when they first started dating. He was telling me how smart and beautiful my mom was and of course all my mom heard - "WAS BEAUTIFUL"??!! So typical and that's why it made me laugh so much. I love hearing stories like this. The story ended with my mom telling my dad off for fixing her up and her telling him she didn't care what my father had or didn't have, it was him she wanted.

My father gave me a disk with a bunch of childhood pictures he converted from slides and I will share some later. When I look back at these pictures, I have to laugh and ask myself why my parents took so many pictures of me making faces or crying? Maybe that's all I did. Sometimes it's good to reconnect with your past. So many of these pictures I couldn't even remember. How could I forget the Grand Canyon? I guess it just didn't make that big an impression on me back then. This is why youth is wasted on the young.

Unstable minds tend to ramble

Okay, so H is in Dallas at a conference and apparently bored. Yes, his blog entry made perfect sense, didn't it?? I miss him when he is not at work, he is my sounding board and stress reliever at work and it sucks when he's not here. He is even funny when he is grumpy, I hope he's wearing his new shirt.

I am here in SA, hard at work...okay at work. I don't have much to say except to gripe just a little about Facebook. I made a Facebook account recently and now am wondering if I should have. Is it just another way to get rejected by the masses? Have you ever "friended" someone and been ignored or rejected? Why do I search for people I haven't thought of in years yet get mad when I can't find them? I never did the MySpace thing so maybe I'm just out of touch.

There is a friend I really want to find and I can't find her anywhere. It has been over 20 years since we lost touch but people don't just vanish in to thin air. Where are you Camille? Why is it that people that you don't really want contact with are the ones to "friend" you?

Today my husband is coming to have lunch with me and I can't wait. He has been on a new shift at work and I haven't seen him all week so I miss him. It's not like we don't talk at least 5 times a day but I miss his face. You know what else I miss? His hugs. People just don't hug anymore and some days I just really need a hug.

Random shit...

So I am in Dallas sitting in a motel room. Yes, a motel room! Who stays in a motel? Apparently we do! It is very sad. I haven't stayed in a hotel room since I went to South Padre for Spring Break! Lesson learned, never let the admin. assist. make the reservation without making sure it has more than two floors.

I went to this huge expo today with a million booths of wholesale companies. They have all kinds of crap for teachers or people that work with teachers. I picked up a whole hell of a lot of free stuff. Good free stuff not just crap. We still have half of the convention center to go through tomorrow. I can't wait.

I ate a Chuy's and it kinda was like Alamo Cafe. It was like generic Mexican food that people in Iowa would enjoy. It was rice from a bag, beans from a can, and crappy guacamole. I ate chicken fajitas because I figured they would be ok. They really weren't.

My feet hurt.

I am really annoyed by people who don't know they are stupid or won't admit they are stopid.

I really like Alec Baldwin.

I just put my recliner in front of my door so I won't be attacked in the middle of the night in my motel.

I have a headache.

The ice machine is not working.

It is only 8:3opm, I am in Dallas and I just want to go to sleep.

Our meeting with production people and printer went well and we are hopeful and excited.

I think I might be pregnant.

I wish I had brought some bit o honey. I love bit o honey.

I wish I was

Big Bad Red

Do ya think my husband is addicted to Wii Sports much? Here he is pointing out that he got a gold medal in Wii golf. He may as well have gotten a gold medal at the Olympics. He is, after all, the reigning 2009 Wii Champion of San Antonio don't ya know!

Here he is demurely accepting his medal at the closing ceremonies. This is what I love about him most, his modesty.
Do you see the look of sheer terror on Max's face? He hates Wii with a passion. All that arm waving and moving around, it freaks him out. He was practically on my lap.

Nani can barely contain her excitement here. She needs to calm down, this one. She may be comatose, not sure. Stay tuned as you may see her on an episode of Doggy Intervention. I'm sure she'll somehow blame me, it's always the mother's fault, isn't it?

Another exciting weekend in the K household. Next week on K, we do some spring cleaning! Stay tuned for another exciting episode. (Insert show theme music here and fade out to laugh track and applause)
